SPG Photography bio picture

Welcome to my Blog!

Welcome!  My name is Susie Gaal and I am a St. Louis based children's photographer specializing in natural light.  This is the place to see sneak peeks of my recent sessions, updates, news and specials.  I will try and post regularly, but sometimes life gets in the way!  Check back from time to time and feel free to leave comments.  I always love to hear from you!

must run in the family

These 3 are cousins.  And they look like they go together with those beautiful eyes and wavy locks of hair.  Obviously good genes run in this family!!

little man

This little man is adorable and such a character!  He definitely had his own ideas of where we should go and what we should do.  I’m so glad he did!  We got lots of fun shots and explored the park more than I have in a while.  Thanks for taking ME out for our photoshoot!

happy birthday!

This session was a birthday gift for grandma.  She will be celebrating a birthday in the fall and her 3 girls and their families all got together at her house in Webster Groves to do this session.  I’m so happy I could be a part of her gift!  Lots of images, so here are a few of my favorites.  Enjoy!

a baby changes everything

A new baby definitely changes everything, in a good way!  Its so nice to go into a home where they’ve recently welcomed a baby.  The home is filled with love and hope and happy memories to be made.  I got to capture some of those memories on Monday.  Thank you for letting me be a part of J’s first year!

twins are special

There is definitely a bond between twins that I think separates them from just being siblings.  Its obvious that these 2 have that bond.  I’ve been shooting these 2 since they were about a year and a half (they were premies so really like a year) and now they are 4.  Every session gets easier and more fun, but one thing stays the same – their love for each other.  They are so sweet and loving and you can feel their connection and I think it comes out in their pictures as well.  Can’t wait until the next time!!

This is one of my very favorites from this session...I even love the dirty mark on his little bum!

easy, peasy, lemon squeezy

These 2 sisters were just that.  They were so fun and easy to photograph!  J & L are 6 1/2 and 8.  These girls were up for anything and perfectly happy about all of it.  Thanks for making my job so easy!!

Oh and I can’t forget to include one shot of our jumpy little froggy friend as well.

Long lashes, beautiful blue eyes, curly locks of hair…

all of those parts alone are amazing.  All of those parts together make up these beautiful children!  And as an added bonus, there’s another on the way.  Thanks for letting me capture all of their beautiful parts!!

the perfect combination

I LOVE to shoot outdoors and I love to shoot newborns.  Yesterday I got to do both in one session!  Little 1 week old baby B has a 2 year old big sister, so we thought it would be fun to combine an outdoor session with a newborn session and get it all done at once.  This weather is perfect for that!  G was such a good sport after her portion of the session was over!  Its tough to be 2 and have your world flipped upside down with a brand new baby.  She is a little superstar!   Thanks for a fun session and congratulations again on little B, the perfect addition to your family.

bubble wrap

We finally got the H family’s session in!  The first session had to be rescheduled due to injury…road rash on the face doesn’t typically make for great pictures. Mom joked that she should wrap her kiddos in bubble wrap the day before to ensure no more photo stopping injuries.  It made me laugh!!  So happy we got them in on a beautiful Friday morning!

Sooooo Biiiiig

The infamous answer to the question, How big is ___?  A just turned one and when he throws his hands up doing soooo biiig, it is so flipping cute I can’t stand it!  Thanks for braving the heat and coming out to the park to do his 1 year session.  I had a great time and captured some of my favorite images of the summer to date!  Hope you all are staying cool!!
